Lamb or Beef Shish Kebabs





Ingredients


1 kg lamb (leg or steaks), beef rump or topside beef
2 onions
1 green or red capsicum
Marinade ..........
1 cup EasiYo yoghurt
salt and ground pepper
juice of 1 lemon
Yoghurt Sauce ..........
2 tsp lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, crushed
salt and pepper to taste
one cup EasiYo yogurt

Method

Cut the meat into 2.5 cm cubes.
Mix the yogurt, lemon, salt and pepper together.
Fold into the meat. Marinate for 3-4 hours. Remove meat from marinade.

Cut onions and capsicum into bite size pieces.
Thread meat onto skewers alternating with onion and capsicum. Retain the marinade.
Barbeque or grill kebabs, turning several times and basting with remaining marinade.
Cook for 10-15 minutes according to taste.

To make sauce, mix together the yoghurt, garlic, lemon juice and seasonings.
Spoon yoghurt sauce over just before serving.
Variations/Comments

For something a little different serve the meat off the skewers and in pita bread with yoghurt sauce.
